Held in tandem with the main workshop, Summer Stages 2 provides advanced beginner and intermediate-level students, ages 12-16, with the opportunity to strengthen their technical skills and expand their knowledge of contemporary dance. The program often serves as a springboard to advanced level training in the Summer Stages Workshop or elsewhere.
This two-week, half-day (non-boarding) program offers daily classes conducted by the Summer Stages faculty in ballet, modern dance, jazz, repertory and composition. Students also participate in the creation of a new work choreographed by a member of the faculty, attend all Meet the Artist performances, and take part in special classes conducted by the Workshop’s faculty and special guest artists.

Students may select from two Summer Stages 2 workshop sessions:
- July 7-18 (2:00 – 5:30 p.m.), with an informal performance on July 17
- July 14-26 (9:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.), with an informal performance on July 24
Based on enrollment, each session will provide a beginner/early intermediate level and an intermediate/early advanced level to best accommodate each dancer.
Applicants must attend an audition prior to enrollment. Auditions will be held on February 3, April 6, and June 1 at 4 pm in the dance studio at Concord Academy.
